INCREDULOUS!!!

“How can this be happening in MY city… my city where I was born… went to school… made friends… walked to the Parsons School of Design classes for children on Saturday mornings… grew up on City Center performances… visited the museums, theater and opera… had some wondrous experiences at Windows on the World watching the lights come on all over the city? No, it’s not real.”

Like so many others, I could not tear myself away from the TV screen. Emotionally spent, seesawing between depression and anger, feeling everything had changed, wondering what I could do to make myself “whole,” I headed upstairs to the studio one day, poked around, cleaned up and reorganized… all typical of “getting ready” for something to get the creative juices flowing. One of the six pieces of work that emanated from the internal chaos was “REMEMBER…9/11.” It is a sculpture made of scrap metals from my “junque room,” 2.5 feel tall by 1.5 feet wide and 8 inches deep, mounted on a painted wood base.

The pieces of work from this time precipitated my emotional healing, and I am now ready to share “REMEMBER…9/11.”
